Lampshade Tips Topic: Tip 23 Fit the shade to the size and shape of the lamp base. The basic purpose of a lampshade is to hide the hardware surrounding the bulb and to prevent glare. A shade needs to be large and low enough to accomplish those jobs.
As you can see, Grand Mère is a very stately Victorian style lampshade. Covered in Ivory floral silk and fully lined with silk. She is enhanced with Ivory and Gold braid. The 4" Ivory fringe is accented with 8 Gold tassels. This shade is made to accommodate floor lamps with reflector globes. What a lovely addition to any home!
